Trigger Point/ Myofascial

Trigger point therapy is a form of manual therapy that focuses on detecting and releasing trigger points. Located in the skeletal muscle, trigger points are spots that produce pain when compressed. In many cases, trigger points form as a result of trauma to the muscle fibers.
Myofascial release works specifically with the connective tissue (fascia) to relieve the tightness that causes muscle restrictions. Massage therapy involves steady movement, like kneading and stroking, on the muscles to bring relief; myofascial release uses sustained pressure to stretch and lengthen the fascia.

Medical Massage

Medical Massage can be used for the treatment of both acute and chronic conditions & injuries. With the knowledge of physiology, anatomy and kinesiology, a variety of massage modalities are combined in order to reach the needs of the client. We can assist you in creating a Treatment Plan which best fit your needs. Medical massage can be used for several different conditions such chronic headaches, acute whiplash, effects from Stroke & Cerebral Palsy, post car & on-the-job accidents, Golfer’s/ Tennis Elbow/ Tendonitis, Plantar Fasciitis, Osgood Schlatter’s Disease, Kyphosis/ Lordosis, Frozen Shoulder and Rotator Cuff Injuries. Hip Replacements, Spinal Fusions & ACL/ PCL/ Meniscus tears are just some of the most common post- surgical procedures that benefit from Medical Massage. The term "Medical" is synonymous to "Therapeutic" & does not have to only be used for insurance purposes. Medical massage addresses all of the injuries/ conditions listed above & more. The fact that a injury/ condition is assessed between a Therapist and a client and a Treatment Plan is set forth between the two is what makes a Medical massage "Medical".

Please consult with your PCP or other Healthcare Provider in order to get a Rx prior to your Medical Massage being approved by your insurance. Both Insurance & Worker's Compensation cases will require Medical Massages versus your regular relaxing Swedish massages. Your Therapist must be a Licensed Massage Therapist & must carry a NPI #. The client is responsible for paying your Therapist and then taking the information to submit to your insurance & worker's comp in order to get reimbursed.
